Barcelona Launches 12 New Neighborhood Tours and Hands-On Workshops This Summer
Operators roll out new walking routes and workshop sessions across the city starting mid-July.
How we reported this

Barcelona Turisme launched four new local tours on July 15 that take visitors through the back streets of Gràcia and along the waterfront in Barceloneta.
The additions arrive as the city prepares for peak summer foot traffic after last year’s visitor numbers climbed past 9.8 million. City officials expect the new offerings to spread crowds beyond the usual Sagrada Família queues and give residents a steadier share of spending.
Gràcia and El Born routes draw steady bookings
One tour starts at Plaça del Sol in Gràcia and winds past independent bookstores and small plazas before ending at a vermouth bar on Carrer de Verdi. Another departs from the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria and covers the old textile warehouses now turned into design studios along Carrer del Rec. Both run daily at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and cost 22 euros per person.
Separate food sessions run three mornings a week at the Mercat de la Boqueria. Participants pay 45 euros to join a chef for a two-hour market walk followed by a small cooking class inside a rented kitchen space two blocks away on Carrer de la Boqueria.
Numbers and next steps
Advance sales for the first two weeks reached 1,400 spots by July 11, according to the tourism board’s online portal. Operators say groups stay under 12 people to keep the pace relaxed on narrow sidewalks.
Reservations open through the Barcelona Turisme website or at the main information office on Plaça de Catalunya. Slots for the rest of July are already filling for weekends, so weekday mornings remain the easiest to secure.
