Barcelona mobility plan sets sustainable transport targets

Barcelona Full Council approved the Urban Mobility Plan 2024 which prioritises pedestrians and aims for 81.52 percent of journeys to be made by walking public transport or cycling according to public reports indexed as [21].
The new PMU 2025 to 2030 proposal targets 85 percent of all journeys on sustainable transport reducing private vehicle use from 19.9 percent to 15 percent and cutting car usage by 25 percent in the metropolitan sphere.
The 2024 plan includes 62 lines of action and over 300 measures with goals to increase walking journeys by 7.5 percent public transport by 15.7 percent and cycling by 129.4 percent compared to 2018 levels.
Barcelona is committed to halving emissions by 2030 compared to 1992 levels and reducing motorized private mobility by 20 percent to meet this target.
